Dear Parents of 6th Grade Cross Country Runners:
The season is fast coming to an end, for those kids who started running in August with the pre-season conditioning program, I applaud you for hanging in there.  I won't know until sometime next week if we will participate in the Bay Area Championship Meet on November 10.  We still need more kids to sign up to make it worth the effort.  In the meantime, here are the items I need you to review.
League Championship Meet - Monday, November 2
That day is a minimum day, the kids get out at 12:40 pm.  They need to be at the parking lot of the Piedmont Community Center at 2:45 pm.  The meet starts at 4:00 pm and we need to do a walk through of the course, that's the reason for the earlier meeting time.  If your child cannot get to the Piedmont Community Hall parking lot by 2:45 let myself or Dane Copeland know and we will make arrangements.  We need every child for this meet, if your child can't run because of illness, let me know ASAP.
Bay Area Championship Meet - Tuesday, November 10
So far I have only heard from a some of you.  So please respond to this e-mail or you can go to this link: http://www.pmscc.com/parents
Click on Bay Area XC Meet Show of Interest and indicate if you are interested or not.
The kids who I have as wanting to run in this meet are:  Chris Baringer, Kyle & Nicole Bilorusky, Maddie Copeland, Alex Harrison, Dylan Porter, Alexandra Shoptaugh, Mitch Winters.
This could be a unique opportunity, so let me know.
Fall Sports Banquet
Wednesday, Nov. 4 is the date of the Fall sports banquet.  It is in the evening, I hope your child can make it.
Mills College Meet and Pictures
Briefly, for the girls Maddie Copeland won for the 4th time in 5 tries.  She should contend for the league championship but there are several other girls in the league who have run faster times, but it will be interesting.  Alexandra Shoptaugh and Nicole Bilorusky also ran well in the meet.  On the boys side, we had 9 runners, with Alex Harrison finishing in 6th place and was our only runner to place in the top 10.  Check our website for complete results and pictures, including pictures from Fentons.  www.pmscc.com
Even though there may be one more meet for the kids, Nov. 10, we would like the singlets turned into me directly after the championship meet.  Make sure I get your name before you turn it in.  If we run in the meet on the 10th the kids can run in the t-shirt given them.
Every year I ask for feedback about the program and please be candid.  There is always room for improvement and based on your comments I can implement change if feasible.  In the next week or so if you could go to this link:
Click on "End of Season Parent Survey" and take a minute or two to complete it, I would appreciate it.
Turkey Trot
The Piedmont Turkey Trot is Thanksgiving Day.  It benefits the high school and cross country teams. Here is the link to the race:
Any child on the cross country team who wants to run in it can get a $10 entry fee rate.
Just respond to this e-mail if they are interested.
Also, if any parents can volunteer to help at the race, let me know.
Thanks.  Any questions, let me know.
